We are a small architectural practice, providing a full range of architectural design services with an innovative approach. We undertake commercial, public and residential projects in the UK and abroad.

The practice was founded by Reinhard Weiss who has successfully brought together talented and experienced architects from the UK and Germany, who are dedicated to producing imaginative, high quality buildings, irrespective of scale.

Our expertise

The practice has considerable experience working on both small and large projects. We have designed and managed projects ranging from £75k up to £2 million.

Our philosophy is that architectural excellence is achieved through considerate and imaginative design, coupled with close teamwork between the client and design team. This approach has ensured a consistently high standard of completed projects and has led to an award for ‘Best Extensions to Existing Listed Properties’ in Germany, as well as a short-listing for the RIBA Small Projects Award. Our projects are regularly featured in leading architectural and interiors periodicals and have appeared in several architectural books.

We provide a personalised service from initial ideas to final completion led by one of our principles. Our professional input stretches beyond the architectural design of the shell of a building, as we also offer assistance with the planning and specification of the interiors. This ensures optimised use of space in your new or refurbished building and consistent design.

We have many years of experience in contemporary refurbishments and extensions to both period and late 20th Century houses. Our designs are always practical and sympathetic to the existing buildings, yet we add modern amenities, the feeling of space and the clean lines of modern house design to the building.

We have also created new houses in conservation areas and gained planning permission where others might have failed. This is largely down to our experience in this field and our considerate design.

Another area of our expertise is in fitting out offices and commercial premises, creating practical and impressive designs in existing spaces.

Our senior architects bring with them the experience of large-scale hotel, housing and office developments from their previous roles in large architectural practices.

3s architects have been the catalyst for many sites throughout Southwest London, creating successful projects where others fail. The inspiration brought by the architect to site assembly and speculative work is often the key to obtaining planning permission. The range of our work with local developers encompasses quick and responsive feasibility studies, detailed planning applications and often full architectural services.
