pensford avenue, kew

a radical refurbishment and the addition of a basement structure to a large plot in north kew for a client relocating from canada. once we had initially redesigned the ground floor widening the hallway, moving the staircase to allow for a continuous flow from basement to the converted loft, and arranging the kitchen, dining, front and rear reception into the new extension and wing of the house and adding an extension to the first floor, it became clear that the house needed to be demolished and rebuilt, apart from the street frontage.

the new basement accommodates a gym, entertainment room, utility room, wine cellar and boiler room with a small bathroom. the first floor now has four bedrooms incorporating the master bedroom with dressing area and en-suite, and the loft has a further two bedrooms and a family bathroom. whilst the new structure replicates the 1930s style architecture of the neighbouring buildings, the ground floor extension and basement is sleek and lightweight in its design fitted with modern products for long wearability.
